Life has been busy, work has been chaotic, and I just simply slipped my mind.

Once a wasteland of garbage, Rio De Janeiro's largest landfill has been slowly becoming a new forest. The mangrove forest, a great habitat for many species, has grown rapidly, overcoming the nasty and polluted area.

Florida has recorded a record number of sea turtles nesting and a record number of eggs. The species had previously been in massive decline but has balanced out in recent years.

If you've been following recent news, you'll know that deep-sea mining is a hotly debated topic. Our ocean floors contain masses of resources, which companies want to get to. But, during an international summit, proposals for mining have been denied.

Nuclear? ☒️

After many years, the Vogtle 3 nuclear reactor has finally been turned on. The reactor has faced many delays but represents an alternate solution which could provide clean energy to many homes in the area.

Seaweed House 🍘 🏠

This Mexican entrepreneur is building bricks made entirely from invasive seaweed. The seaweed can be found across North America, rotting on the shoreline and leaving a bad smell.

Many believe that technology will save the climate crisis. That there will be some kind of AI that can help us determine how to save our planet. Experts are already using AU save mangroves, and hope that it can do the same for many other ecosystems.

A recent study has shown that researchers and the media alike have been overestimating the amount of plastic in our oceans by about 30x. It is still a massive problem for us, and the whole reason The Ocean Project exists, but researchers may need to focus on microplastics next.

After introducing a required charge for plastic bags are supermarkets in England, research suggests that plastic bag usage has dropped by 98%, a huge reduction in the use of single-use plastics.
