You might have noticed that it is not Monday, and nor is it Tuesday.

Monday was a public holiday in Canada, where I live, and Tuesday was July 4th. Hence, the release of this week's newsletter should be pushed back to allow you to enjoy your holidays.

Movie fame is often associated with annoying paparazzi and stalkers, but this pub, shown in the Apple TV show Ted Lasso, has gone all out! They love visiting tourists, and have even hung some memorabilia from the show!

Some Hope For Our Reefs! 🐟🐠

New research shows how we can project our coral reefs, and keep our oceans healthy. Part of the research shows that the Corals reefs can evolve and adapt to their new challenges, to ensure their survival.

Largest-ever data set collection shows how coral reefs can survive climate change

Similar to the expeditions of a hundred or two hundred years ago, the Tara Pacific expedition lasted over two years. Its goal was to research the conditions for life and survival of corals. The ship crossed the entire Pacific Ocean, assembling the largest genetic inventory conducted in any marine system to date. The team's 70 scientists from eight countries took around 58,000 samples from the hundred coral reefs studied.

You may have bought one of these bracelets back when they were trendy, but they're still making a huge impact. 4Ocean just announced that it has pulled 1 million pounds of trash out of the ocean! A great achievement!

These 20-something surfers started a company that's pulled 1 million pounds of garbage out of the ocean

Andrew Cooper and Alex Schulze founded 4Ocean in 2017 with the idea of paying people around the world to pick garbage out of the ocean while selling products made of recycled glass and plastic.

New Cities Found With LiDar 📹

Now this is some cool stuff. Much of our world is still undiscovered, but using LiDar technology, scientists are able to uncover objects, houses and even towns that are hiding beneath the surface.

The Water Is Returning 💧

California's readers will know that Oroville has struggled in recent years. The state has just announced that the lake is at 100%, something that hasn't been seen since 2019.

The Bees Are Back 🐝

You may recall a previous newsletter that mentioned bee populations. Thanks for beekeepers, the struggling population has finally stabilized, a good sign to the US who has been struggling with been populations for a while.

Honeybees are crucial to the food supply, pollinating more than 100 of the crops we eat, including nuts, vegetables, berries, citrus and melons. Scientists said a combination of parasites, pesticides, starvation and climate change keep causing large die-offs.
